 FEDERAL MINISTRY OF INFORMATION AND NATIONAL ORIENTATION  PRESS STATEMENT  BINANCE FALSE CLAIM ON BRIBERY DIVERSIONARY  The Federal Government of Nigeria is aware of attempts by Binance to launder its impaired image as an organisation that does not play by the rules and laws guiding business conduct in sovereign nations. In a blog post that has now been published by many international media organisations, in an apparent well-coordinated public relations effort, Binance Chief Executive Officer Richard Teng made false allegations of bribery against unidentified Nigerian government officials who he claimed demanded $150m in cryptocurrency payments to resolve the ongoing criminal investigation against the company.  This claim by Binance CEO lacks any iota of substance. It is nothing but a diversionary tactic and an attempted act of blackmail by a company desperate to obfuscate the grievous criminal charges it is facing in Nigeria. A EX-COMMISSIONER IN ADAMAWA STATE,SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS FOR FRAUD YESTERDAY.

                  Yesterday friday December 4,2015,a former Commissioner of Local Government Affairs in Adamawa state,John Ellias Babani,was sentenced to to 10 years by Justice Bilikisu Bello Aliyu of the Federal High Court,Yoa,Adamawa state for defrauding Adamawa state government of the Sum of N51.5 miion while in office.He was arraigned by the EFCC {Economic and Financial Crimes Commission} on March 5,2013 alongside two others who were discharged as well as a company owned by Elias on four count charges of fraud.Justice Aliyu sentenced the first convict,John Babani Elias to 10 years imprisonment on count 3 and 4 but the two sentences will run concurrently,and he must refund the sum of N51.5 million to Adamawa state Local Government joint account fund from where it was stolen.The judge also ordered the Corporate Affairs Commission {CAC} to wind up Al-Akim Investment Limited and have its assets forfeited to the Federal Government of Nigeria.Justice Aliyu said the Judgement will serve as a  deterrent to public office holders who may want to divert public funds for personal benefit.One more photo below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
