TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms. Today sunday morning according to the NAN an unidentified middle age ma was electrocuted while he was trying to steal electric cable at a power supply installation in Kaduna.The incident happened at Accra Crescent by LEA Primary school,Unguwar Rimi.The raditional ruler of the area,Dan Iyar Unguwar Rimi,Alhaji Muhammad Gidado,confirmed the incident and he said the corpse of the vandal was evacuatd from the scene by the police from Unguwar Rimi division.According to him,the vandal was unknown to them in the area and urged law enforcement agencies to step up patrol as the community has suffered from the activities of vandals lately.He explaind that the deceased tried to steal the 150mm four core up riser cable at the distribution sub-station along Accra crescent when nemesis caught up with him.The police said they are investigating the incident with a view to arresting the collaborators of the act and preventing reoccurrence.One more photo below.
