 GOVERNOR ABBA  YUSUF SACKS  KANO STATE HEAD OF SERVICE   The Executive Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has relieved the State Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa, of his appointment with immediate effect. In a statement  by the Director General, Media and Publicity to the Governor, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the decision is part of the ongoing efforts by the present administration to reposition the state civil service for greater efficiency, discipline, and improved service delivery across all government institutions. Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to the outgoing Head of Service for his contributions and dedication to the service of the State  The statement further directed that Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, the Permanent Secretary, Admin and General Services at the Cabinet Office, to serve in an  acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive Head of Service. A NIGERIAN DESIGNER,ENLISTED TO DECORATE THE U.S WHITE HOUSE FOR CHRISTMAS.

                                                  The Nigerian designer is identified as Duro Olowu and three other designers Carolina Herrera Leon,Carol Lim and Kenzo were brought into decorate the White House China Room,Vermeil Room and Library for the holiday season.The White House theme this year is Timeless Tradition,the inspiration that lead designer Duro Olowu to create custom teddy bears using vintage African fabric in decorating the Vermeil room.Duru Olowu was born to a Nigerian father and Jamaican mother.Duro was raised in Lagos,spending his childhood travelling between Nigeria and different cities in Europe.His wife Thelma Golden,is the Director and Chief curator of the studio museum in Harlem,New York.More photos below.                                                                                         j6grJlh
