 LAWMA Waste, Investigation, Surveillance and Enforcement operatives on night duty have apprehended two environmental offenders along the Jibowu and Ojota corridors of Ikorodu Road for engaging in illegal waste collection and indiscriminate disposal of refuse at unauthorized locations. The suspects, were arrested during routine surveillance operations after being found carrying out activities that constitute environmental nuisance and undermine approved waste management processes, despite repeated warnings and sensitization efforts. The offenders are being transferred to the Oshodi Task Force Office for prosecution through the Mobile Court in accordance with the environmental protection laws of Lagos State. LAWMA reiterates that illegal waste collection and indiscriminate dumping remain punishable offences. A VIGILANTE MAN,WAS ARRESTED YESTERDAY IN OGUN STATE FOR ARMED ROBBERY.

                According to sources,yesterday wednesday,a man who claimed to be a member of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria,VGN,Mr Adesiyan Adeniyi,has been arrested by men of the Sagamu Police Command for alleged armed robbery.He was arrested in possession of a stolen unregistered motorcycle and a locally made double barrel gun with 20 live cartridges.Police operatives who had placed the suspect undersurveillance arrested him at Ewusi area,Makun,Sagamu in Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun state on wednesday afternoon.A statemment today thursday by the Ogun Police spokeperson,DSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi,said preliminary investigation has revealed that the suspect,who claims to be a Vigilante official.,has been terrorizing the good people of Sagamu and robbing them of their belongings on several occasions.The Commissioner of Police Oggun state,CP Abdulmajid Ali,has therefore directed thorough investigation into the matter to ascertain the membership of the suspect of Vigilante Group of Nigeria and uncover some of his previous criminal acts in the area.The Commissioner of Police has also promised to censor members of the Vigilante and Neighbourhood Watch in the state,with a view to auditing their operations.
