 Setting the Records Straight on  Citizen Asar Michael Sesugh's  Death The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,  EFCC,  considered it imperative to clear the air on some recent incidents at its Makurdi Zonal Directorate,  Benue State.   Operatives of the Directorate arrested 26 suspected cyber fraudsters on April 28,  2026.  They were profiled and kept in custody for further investigations after obtaining a Remand Order at a Magistrate Court.  Shortly after their arrest,  specifically on May 4,  2026,  three of the suspects sought permission to use the lavatory at the Directorate's  Holding Facility and were permitted.   They cashed in on the opportunity,  broke the toilet's roof and escaped from detention.  Several efforts were made to re- arrest them to no avail. CLASH BY RIVAL GROUPS DISRUPTED BAYELSA POLLS,BUT NORMALCY WAS RESTORED BY THE POLICE

                        According to the Nigerian Police Public Relations Officer Mr Asinim Butswat an ASP,who spoke with NAN today in Yenagoa said the Command had received report of clash by rival groups which disrupted the electoral process in the area.He said one person was injured during the clash,while the police arrested some suspects in the process.''We have made some arrests and normalcy has been restored in the area.Security reinforcement was sent to Oporoma and we can say that the electoral process had commenced there''.He further state that the information available to the police showed that no life was lost during the clash.He said that accreditation had commenced in some parts of the area,and the governorship election in these areas had been peaceful while security agents were on high alert to check any breach of the law.One more photo below.
