  Oshiomhole Convinced Us To Make Obaseki Governor – Philip Shaibu Philip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has disclosed that his choice to support his former boss, Godwin Obaseki, stemmed from his respect for Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Naija News, Shaibu shared his doubts about Obaseki during an interview on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm program on Tuesday. Shaibu admitted that he lacked confidence in Obaseki's leadership even before they took office on November 12, 2016. He explained that despite his initial hesitations, he ultimately backed Obaseki out of respect and based on the assurances provided by Oshiomhole. He stated, “Obaseki is not a politician. We made him governor because Oshiomhole persuaded us. Lagos Assembly confirms Odukale as LSSTF board chairman                                                       Today tuesday,the Lagos State House of Assembly confirmed Ambode's nominee for the position of the Chairman of Board of Lagos State Security Trust Fund {LSSTF},Mr Oye Hassan Odukale.Mr Odukale said that he was surprised that he was nominated for the position by the Governor.Mr Odukale who is currently the Managing Director of Leadway Assurance Plc said that his motive is to raise money for the fund through the private sector and that his company has contributed immensely to the fund in the past.According to him,the board of LSSTF has eight members and the fund is ment to equip all security agencies such as the police,army and the Department of the State Security Service {DSS}.He further said that ''It is a volunteer work for me to raise money for the state through my network and those of others on the board.We need to win the trust of the people that are contributing to the fund and widen the net of the contribution''.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
