 Court Grants Buhari's Aviation Minister Sirika, Daughter, Two Others N100m Bail Each A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted ₦100m bail each to a former Minister of Aviation Hadi Sirika, his daughter and two others. They are being tried over an alleged fraud to the tune of ₦2.7bn. According to the court, they are also to provide two sureties who must have landed properties in Abuja. The sureties, the court said, must also be responsible citizens. The sureties must depose to an affidavit of means. The court also restricted the defendants from traveling abroad without its permission. Justice Oriji ordered that the defendants should be remanded in prison custody if they failed to meet their bail conditions. The sureties must own landed properties within the FCT with valid titles. The trial will commence on the 10th, 11th and 20th of June. Details Shortly…

THE BIGGEST JESUS CHRIST STATUE,TO BE UNVEILED TOMORROW IN IMO STATE.

                       A Nigerian businessman will unveil the statue that he says is the biggest one of its kind,describing it as a symbol of peace in Nigeria.Obinna Onuoha commissioned the 8.53m tall ''Jesus de Greatest'' statue in 2013,hiring a Chinese company to carve it out of white marble.The 40 ton statue of Jesus standing barefoot with arms outstretched will tower over St.Aloysius Catholic Church in the mainly Christian village of Abajah in Nigeria's south eastern state .43 Onuoha  old chief executive officer of an oil and gas distribution company said ''It's going to be the biggest statue of Jesus on the continent''.Around 1000 pilgrims are expected to attend the statue's unveiling tomorrow New Year's day.Onuoha further said that he has contracted the police to ensure that the statue is not attacked or vandalized.One more photo below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
