 Senator Sunday Karimi has raised concerns over the growing incidence of kidnapping and banditry in Kogi State, describing abductions as a daily occurrence in the state. Karimi made the remarks on Wednesday during plenary while contributing to a motion of urgent public importance sponsored by Senator Abdulfatai Buhari on the recent abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Ogbomoso. The lawmaker said kidnapping and banditry have become major security challenges threatening the stability of the country, stressing that responsibility for addressing the menace should not rest solely on the Federal Government. According to him, bandits invaded Ayedun Bunu, a community in Kogi West Senatorial District, in the early hours of Monday and abducted 28 residents. THE BIGGEST JESUS CHRIST STATUE,TO BE UNVEILED TOMORROW IN IMO STATE.

                       A Nigerian businessman will unveil the statue that he says is the biggest one of its kind,describing it as a symbol of peace in Nigeria.Obinna Onuoha commissioned the 8.53m tall ''Jesus de Greatest'' statue in 2013,hiring a Chinese company to carve it out of white marble.The 40 ton statue of Jesus standing barefoot with arms outstretched will tower over St.Aloysius Catholic Church in the mainly Christian village of Abajah in Nigeria's south eastern state .43 Onuoha  old chief executive officer of an oil and gas distribution company said ''It's going to be the biggest statue of Jesus on the continent''.Around 1000 pilgrims are expected to attend the statue's unveiling tomorrow New Year's day.Onuoha further said that he has contracted the police to ensure that the statue is not attacked or vandalized.One more photo below.
