 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE DEMONSTRATED IN BAYELSA STATE TODAY,OVER THE CANCELLATION OF THE ELECTION IN SOUTHERN IJAW.

               The youths and women who were demonstrating today wednesday,barricaded major roads in Yenogoa,.to protest the cancellation of the election in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area by the Independent National Electoral Commission {INEC}.The youths who demanded the immediate sacking of the Resident Electoral Commissioner {REC} MR Baritor Kpagir,also called for the urgent release of the Southern Ijaw Election results.The youths said the REC erred for cancelling an election that had been conducted with results collated and pasted in various wards.Scores of physically challenged persons on wheelchair also joined the protest which was peacefully coordinated by armed riot policemen.More photos below.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance.” The President, however, stated that the delays were affecting the public’s perception of the administration’s commitment to addressing the security challenges.
