  The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has dismissed a viral claim circulating on social media about the introduction of new ₦5,000 and ₦10,000 banknotes, labeling it as fake news. The claim, which included fabricated images of the supposed new denominations featuring Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and Chief Obafemi Awolowo, falsely stated that the new notes would enter circulation from May 1, 2025. In a statement on its verified Facebook account, the CBN clarified that the content is not from the bank and directed the public to its official website, (www.cbn.gov.ng), for authentic information. The bank warned against spreading misinformation regarding monetary policies and urged Nigerians to rely only on official statements from its verified channels. The CBN reaffirmed that any major policy decision, including the introduction of new banknotes, would be announced through its official platforms. VICE PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA OSINBAJO,ARRIVED BURKINA FASO TODAY FOR THEIR PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURATION.

              Vice President Yemi Osinbajo {SAN} represented President Muhammadu Buhari today at the inauguration of a new and democratically elected president of Burkina Faso,Roch Marc Christian Kabore.Kabore emerged the winner last month after their general elections in Burkina Faso.Earlier in September 2015,President Buhari had presided over an Extra-ordinary session of ECOWAS leaders in Abuja regarding a military coup that took place that month in Burkina Faso.The meeting called for the restoration of civil rule and supported the progress of the political transition.This culminated in the November presidential and parliamentary elections in the country.Osinbajo represented President Bhari at the follow up meeting of select ECOWAS leaders in the nation's capital city Ouagadougou.That meeting contributed to the termination of the military coup and restoration of Burkina Faso's democratic transition.More photos below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
