 Nigeria's Defence Minister Summons Service Chiefs Amid Surge in Attacks on Military Bases Nigeria's Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd), has urgently summoned the nation's top military leaders to a high-level meeting at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja. The session addresses the escalating attacks targeting military installations, particularly in the North East region. The meeting includes key figures such as: - Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede - Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu - Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke - Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abass - Representatives from the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) The summons comes in response to recent deadly assaults by terrorists on military bases in the North East. 5 KENYAN POLICE KILLED AFTER THEIR TRUCK HITS EXPLOSIVE DEVICE,YESTERDAY.

              According to Reuters,five Kenyan policemen were killed yesterday tuesday in the coastal county of Lamu after truck hit an improvised explosive device planted on the road by Islamist militants al-Shabaab.A senior regional official said ''The truck had about 10 administration police officers and the explosive that blew it up seemed to have been planted on the road they were using''.Senior officials and police declined to give official statement on the attack,saying it was sensitive,and that they still awaited detailed report from officers on the ground.But Lamu Governor Issa Timamy said ''It is unfortunate that once again the nation is mourning the deaths of our five officers killed at the hands of the al-Shabaab''.Meanwhile Sheikh Abdiasis Abu Musab,al-Shaab's military operation spokesman told Reuters that ''We killed eight Kenyan soldiers after we burnt their car with a roadside boom near Lamu area''.The attack comes less than two weekss after Somali Islamist militants al Shabaab attacked a military camp housing Kenyan soldiers who are part of an African Union {AU} force in Somalia {AMISOM}.One more photo below.
