STATEHOUSE PRESS STATEMENT PRESIDENT TINUBU'S MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE TO CHIMAMANDA ADICHIE AND HER FAMILY With a deep sense of grief, I condole with Ms Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, her husband, Dr Ivara Esege, and the entire family on the passing of their son, Nkanu Nnamdi. As a parent myself who has suffered the loss of a loved one, no grief is as devastating as losing a child. I empathise with the family at this difficult time, and I mourn this sad loss with them. Ms Adichie is a literary icon who has brought joy and light to many homes globally, and I pray she and her family find strength in the Almighty in this trying hour. My prayers are with the family. Today tuesday five persons died in an accident involving a Mercedes Benz truck and a Mazda bus at Sagamu on the Lagos Ibadan Expressway in Ogun state.The Sector Commander of the FRSC in Ogun state Mr Adegoke Adetunji who confirmed the incident said that the bus lost control and ran into the truck which was also on motion from the rear.23 people were involved in the accident,with five confirmed dead while 16 sustained injuries.The Mazda bus and the Mercedes Benz truck were travelling to Ibadan before they rammed into each other.''We understand that the bus,which was on a high speed,lost control and rammed into the moving truck and was torn into pieces because of its bad shape.The bus was not in good shape and was not supposed to be on the road.The corpses of the victims had been deposited at the Olabisi Onaabanjo University Teaching Hospital mortuary in Sagamu while the injured were also being treated in the health facility.
