 Group demands declaration of Aba North Assembly seat vacant, threatens protest A group known as the Coalition of Aba North Ethnic Youth Groups has mandated the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Emmanuel Emereuwa to declare the Aba North seat vacant in seven days. The Aba North seat has been a subject of controversy since November 27, 2023, when the Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos sacked Destiny Nwagwu of LP and declared Aaron Uzodike of the PDP, the duly elected member to represent Aba North. However, the seat has remained unoccupied since November 2023, as Uzodike of PDP has not been inaugurated by the Speaker, despite his several appeals. A fresh controversy erupted Friday, as the Coalition of Aba North Ethnic Youths Groups, asked the Speaker to declare the seat vacant within seven days or expect a city-wide protest in Aba. EFCC ARRAIGNED OLISA METUH BEFORE THE F.H.C TODAY,FOR DESTRUCTION OF EVIDENCE.

                      Today thursday,the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission {EFCC} arraigned the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party {PDP},Olisa Metuh,before the Federal Capital Territory High Court,Abuja,over destruction of evidence in his criminal case.Metuh who is also standing trial for his alleged involvement in the diversion of arms procurement funds,reportedly destroyed the statement he wrote to EFCC operatives during investigation.The PDP spokesman,however pleaded not guilty to the two count charge filed against him./Metuh who was granted bail by a judge at the Federal High Court,Abuja on tuesday is still in prison following his inability to perfect the bail conditions.According to sources,the presiding judge in the fresh case,Justice Ishaq Bello,adjourned the matter till next monday.One more photo below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha.  Punish my abusers within 48 hours or face lawsuit - Student bullied by her classmates threaten school authorities The bullied student of British Lead International School, Miss. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
