Alex Cora fired as Red Sox manager amid last-place AL East slump, Chad Tracy named interim replacement Alex Cora has been fired as manager of the Boston Red Sox as the team sits in last place in the American League East, ending a turbulent second tenure that followed both historic success and years of roster turnover. Cora, who played on Boston’s 2007 World Series championship team and later guided the club to a franchise-record 108 wins and a title in 2018, will be replaced on an interim basis by Chad Tracy, who had been managing the team’s Triple-A affiliate in Worcester. Today thursday,the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission {EFCC} arraigned the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party {PDP},Olisa Metuh,before the Federal Capital Territory High Court,Abuja,over destruction of evidence in his criminal case.Metuh who is also standing trial for his alleged involvement in the diversion of arms procurement funds,reportedly destroyed the statement he wrote to EFCC operatives during investigation.The PDP spokesman,however pleaded not guilty to the two count charge filed against him./Metuh who was granted bail by a judge at the Federal High Court,Abuja on tuesday is still in prison following his inability to perfect the bail conditions.According to sources,the presiding judge in the fresh case,Justice Ishaq Bello,adjourned the matter till next monday.One more photo below.
