 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. KOGI POLICE PATROL YESTERDAY RECOVERED ARMS FROM A CAR+PHOTOS FROM LAI MOHAMMED'S VISIT TO POLICE HEADQUARTERS.

               Yesterday monday the Nigerian Police at about 6:pm in Kogi state,Police patrol team while returning to base from day duty highway patrol,on reaching Oziokutu in Adavi Local Government Area stopped and searched an ash coloured Nissan Almera car with Registration number.Kogi LKJ 01 MW.The four {4} occupants of the vehicle suddenly stopped the vehicle and ran away when they saw the police vehicle approaching.The police recovered from the abandoned vehicles area one {1} AK-47 rifle with breech No.56-2.400577 with three {3} rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition,one {1} pump action gun with four {4} live cartridges and four {4} black masks.Recovered items were taken to the Police Station and the case is still under investigation.The Minister of Infformation Alhaji Lai Mohammed pays Police Force Headquarters in Abuja a visit today tuesday.More photos below.
