 PRESS RELEASE MINING MARSHALS DISMANTLE ILLEGAL MINING STRONGHOLD IN NASARAWA  In a significant step towards curbing illegal mining, the Mining Marshals have successfully dismantled a heavily fortified illegal mining site in Rafin Gabas, Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. The site, which had long evaded law enforcement, was reportedly protected by compromised security personnel. However, following a strategic and well-coordinated operation, the Mining Marshals penetrated the stronghold, leading to the arrest of three foreign nationals involved in the nefarious activities. Several other suspects managed to flee, allegedly with the help of security operatives. The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Dele Alake commended the operation, calling it a major breakthrough in the government's ongoing fight against illegal mining.                In a statement signed by the secretary of MASSOB,Uchenna Madu led faction,Ibem Ugwuoke Ibem and the director of information,samuel Edeson state that ''MASSOB after series of public protest,demonstrations,civil disobedience and stay at home protest against the continued detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu by Nigerian Government through the DSS and non-compliance of Buhari led administration to obey three different competent court orders for Nnamdi Kanu's release,MASSOB demands that Nnamdi Kanu must be release now or more diplomatic,image and political damages will be fall the already battered Nigeria's image with massive,self determined and non violence worldwide Biafran Demonstration/protest including non co-operation and civil disobedience.The MASSOB directs all our members at home and in Diaspora to prepare for a massive demonstration,protest and a civil disobedience against the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu {IOPB Leader} starting from monday January 18,2016.MASSOB also directs former members in Ralph Uwazurike's BIM to join and participate in the non-violent worldwide demonstration against Nnamdi Kanu's continued detention as a mark of love and respect for Biafra''.One more photo below.
