 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. POLICE IN EBONYI STATE,ARRESTED SOME MEMBERS OF THE ''GERMAN ARROR'' CULT TODAY.

                   According to sources,Police in Ebonyi state have arrested suspected cultist,that was said to be members of ''German Arror'',who abducted two girls,dragged them into the bush,initiated them into their cult group and forcibly had carnal knowledge of them.The state Police Commissioner,Peace Abdallah,who disclosed this while parading suspected criminals,said the incident occurred at Igboeze Onicha in Onicha Local Government Area.She said ''Six of the cult boys,Ugochukwu Onueze,Michael Innocent,Ogbonnaya Okike,Ogbonnanya Ogbu,Nnamdi Ogbonnaya and Emmanuel James,were later arrested''.Abdallah also paraded an official of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps {NSCDC},Chukwuma Igbokwe,and 10 others for alleged vandalism.The 11 suspects were said to have vandalised petroleum pipeline at Amaeze,Ishiagu in Ivo Local Government Area.The commissioner said the command received distress call on the activities of the vandals.She said ''Policemen raced to the scene,and after exchange of gun fire with the hoodlums,arrested one Igbokwe Chukwuma an NSCDC official and 10 other suspects while others escaped.''One white Peaugeot but with registration number Taraba AA 326 ARD and White Mitsubishi truck with registration number Imo DFB 162XA both loaded with substance suspected to be petroleum product was impounded''.One more photo below.
