The Edo State House of Assembly has removed Hon. Natasha Osawaru Irobosa of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from her position as Minority Leader, marking a significant shift in the chamber’s leadership structure. The announcement, made on Monday, is part of a broader restructuring triggered by recent political defections. Hon. Charity Aiguobarueghian, also of the PDP, was similarly stripped of her role as Majority Leader. Meanwhile, Hon. Yekini Idaiye, another PDP lawmaker, lost his position as Chief Whip. Despite the shake-up, PDP lawmakers Hon. Blessing Agbebaku and Hon. Maria Edeko have held onto their roles as Speaker and Deputy Speaker, respectively—for now. The changes stem from a letter submitted by Jarret Tenebe, acting chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, following the defection of four PDP lawmakers to the APC. THE U.S,IS DEEPLY DISAPPOINTED BY RWANDA PRESIDENT'S 3RD TERM NEW YEAR ANNOUNCEMENT

                   According to reuters,the United States is deeply disappointed by Rwandan President Paul Kagame's New Year's announcement that he would seek a third term in 2017.Kagame,who has been president since 2000,has effectively been in control since his rebel force marched into Kigali to end the 1994 genocide.He had been limited to two terms,but Rwanda approved constitutional changes last year that would allow him to stay in power until 2034,if he wins elections.John Kirby,a spokesman for the U.S  State Department,said in a statement late yesterday saturday that ''The United States is deeply disappointed that President Paul Kagame has announced his intention to run for a third term in office''.The United States is a major donor too Rwanda and provides military aid.It has long praised Kagame for transforming the nation since the genocide.One more photo below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
