 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results. THE U.S,IS DEEPLY DISAPPOINTED BY RWANDA PRESIDENT'S 3RD TERM NEW YEAR ANNOUNCEMENT

                   According to reuters,the United States is deeply disappointed by Rwandan President Paul Kagame's New Year's announcement that he would seek a third term in 2017.Kagame,who has been president since 2000,has effectively been in control since his rebel force marched into Kigali to end the 1994 genocide.He had been limited to two terms,but Rwanda approved constitutional changes last year that would allow him to stay in power until 2034,if he wins elections.John Kirby,a spokesman for the U.S  State Department,said in a statement late yesterday saturday that ''The United States is deeply disappointed that President Paul Kagame has announced his intention to run for a third term in office''.The United States is a major donor too Rwanda and provides military aid.It has long praised Kagame for transforming the nation since the genocide.One more photo below.
