  The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has dismissed a viral claim circulating on social media about the introduction of new ₦5,000 and ₦10,000 banknotes, labeling it as fake news. The claim, which included fabricated images of the supposed new denominations featuring Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and Chief Obafemi Awolowo, falsely stated that the new notes would enter circulation from May 1, 2025. In a statement on its verified Facebook account, the CBN clarified that the content is not from the bank and directed the public to its official website, (www.cbn.gov.ng), for authentic information. The bank warned against spreading misinformation regarding monetary policies and urged Nigerians to rely only on official statements from its verified channels. The CBN reaffirmed that any major policy decision, including the introduction of new banknotes, would be announced through its official platforms. A POLICEMAN DIED TODAY,DURING A FITNESS TRAINING IN ADO ODO.

                      According to sources,a Deputy Superintendent of Police {DSP} attached to the Ado Odo Divisional Headquarters Ogun state,Mr.Bolade Agboola,slumped and died during a fitness exercise today friday.Agboola,who until his death was the Divisional Crime Officer {DCO} of the station,was said to have gone to a nearby Alamuwa Secondary School compound to join others in physical exercise when he collapsed and passed out.He was rushed to a private hospital where he was confirmed dead by doctors.The deceased,according to close sources,was said to have returned from his home-town in Ekiti State a few days ago after a brief illness.He was said to have been advised by doctors to engage in fitness exercise.The body of the police officer has since been deposited in the mortuary.Another source said ''The incident happened at about 7:50 am yesterday when Agoola went to Alamuwa Secondary School to exercise his body.He met a group of local footballers there and joined them in fitness training during which he suddenly slumped and could not be revived''.One more photo below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
