  President Bola Tinubu has identified the creative economy as a pivotal element of his administration’s economic diversification agenda, reaffirming his commitment to positioning Nigeria’s creative sector as a driving force for global influence. The President stated this at the launch of the 2024 Abuja International Carnival at Eagle Square, Abuja. President Tinubu, represented by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, said the carnival reaffirms the essence of who Nigerians are—”a people of culture, a people of art, a people of colour, and a people of shared values”. LAGOS STATE GOVT,BANS CARS FROM PARKING ON OPEBI TO ALLEN ROUND ABOUT IN IKEJA,FROM MONDAY.

                                     The Lagos State Government has banned street parking on both sides of the road from Opebi to Allen round about in Ikeja with effect from monday,8th of February 2016.A release by the State Commissioner for transport,Dr. Dayo Mobereola,directed business premises and visitors to the area to endeavour to park their vehicles within their premises or on side streets along the stretch.It warned that any violation of the order will be appropriately charged and sanctioned by the the appropriate Law enforcement agency saddled with the responsibility of ensuring compliance with this directive.The release stated further that in line with the provisions of the Lagos State Traffic Law 2012 all vehicles,including tricycles and Okada,must also abide by the restriction order.It however implored business premises in the area to ensure compliance so as to avoid the closure of their premises or sanction against their customers.The release expressed regrets for any inconvenience the action might cause residents,business owners and motorists in the area and its environ.One more photo below.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
