 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results. SOME PRISONERS ESCAPED TODAY,AFTER A PRISON VAN RAMMED INTO A TRUCK ALONG BADAGRY EXPRESSWAY.

                         Today wednesday,around 7:00am at Beyuf Bus Stop on the Badagry Expressway Lagos,some prisoners who had were taken to court escaped after a long bus belonging to the Nigerian Prisons Service {NPS} rammed into a Stationary truck.It was learnt that several persons sustained injuries and as the prison officers were trying to calm nerves,many of the inmates were said to have fled.An official of the Federal Road Safety Corp {FRSC} who pleaded anonymity told pressmen that the headlamp of the NPS was not bright and the driver did not see the stationary vehicle in good time.He alleged that the occupants of the bus were trapped inside for for hours before the arrival of some people.''It rammed into the back of the truck headlong.Those inside the bus were trapped for sometime before one of the officials opened the door to allow rescuers carry out emergency work.Amidst the concussion,some of the prisoners were taken to the hospital''.Manhunt for the escaped prisoners,commenced immediately.More photo below.
