 There was no evidence that he slept with the girl” – Yomi Fabiyi gives update on Baba Ijesha’s case Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has given an update on embattled Yoruba actor Baba Ijesha’s case. Refreshing your memory, Baba Ijesha was arrested and sentenced to 5 years imprisonment for raping a minor, who is the adopted daughter of comedian Princess. Giving an update on the case in a recent interview, he said Baba Ijesha’s appeal process is still ongoing in court. He claimed that there was no evidence that he slept with the hole; hence, the judge didn’t sentence him to life imprisonment. Yomi stated that Princess called Baba Ijesha to shoot a skit, and the girl also made a similar statement in court.                                                     According to sources,14 year old Ese Rita Oruru was discovered to be about 5 months pregnant  and the white Hijab dress she wore on her arrival from Kano yesterday tuesday was used to cover the pregnancy even though her physical condition and looks created a suspicion.Based on these new development,the Bayelsa Born Ese could be handed over to the Gender and Child Protection Unit.Upon certifying her medical status and emotional state,it was gathered that the Inspector of General of Police feeling uncomfortable with the road transport arrangement of the mother after they were re-united.The Police IGP directed that both Ese and Her mother be flown to Yenegoa by air.Ese was Kidnapped from Balyesa by one Yunusa Dahiru to Kano and after she was re-united to her family,Yunusa will be moved to Yengoa to face interrogation and prosecution for kidnapping and child abuse as well as violence against a girl child,in which the Minister initially said she will take up the matter.More photos below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
