 FEDERAL MINISTRY OF INFORMATION AND NATIONAL ORIENTATION  PRESS STATEMENT  BINANCE FALSE CLAIM ON BRIBERY DIVERSIONARY  The Federal Government of Nigeria is aware of attempts by Binance to launder its impaired image as an organisation that does not play by the rules and laws guiding business conduct in sovereign nations. In a blog post that has now been published by many international media organisations, in an apparent well-coordinated public relations effort, Binance Chief Executive Officer Richard Teng made false allegations of bribery against unidentified Nigerian government officials who he claimed demanded $150m in cryptocurrency payments to resolve the ongoing criminal investigation against the company.  This claim by Binance CEO lacks any iota of substance. It is nothing but a diversionary tactic and an attempted act of blackmail by a company desperate to obfuscate the grievous criminal charges it is facing in Nigeria. IGP,DEPLOYS 3 COMMISSIONERS OF POLICE TODAY,TO SUPERVISE THE RE-RUN ELECTION IN RIVERS STATE.

                     In furtherance of strategies designed to prevent electoral violence and thus to ensure a smooth and orderly conduct of the Rivers State Supplementary elections slated for Saturday,19th March,2016,the Inspector General of Police,IGP Solomon E.Arase,has directed the AIG in charge of zone 6 Calabar,AiG Adisa Baba Bolanta to relocate to Port Harcourt today monday March 14 for pre-elections preparations with a view to emplace conducive environment for free,fair and credible election.The IGP,while disclosing that three Commissioners of Police have been deployed to supervise security arrangements  within the three Senatorial Districts Rivers East,Rivers West and Rivers South East,respectively,stated that 6000 conventional Policemen and 14 Units of  Police Mobile Force personnel {MOPOL},would be deployed to compliment the personnel of Rivers State Command during the election.In addition,the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Department of Operations,DIG Sontoye Wakama,has also been directed to proceed to River immediately to hold meeings with Stakeholders and Police officers in the State Command on the need for peaceful conduct before,during and after the election.The IGP,while assuring the la abiding electorates of a secure and enabling environment to exercise their franchise,warns all security details to desist from accompanying their principals and politicians to polling booths and collation centers during the election.He emphasizes that only security personnel specially assigned for election duties must be seen within and around the election designated places.-ACP Olabisi Kolawole,Force Public Relations Officer,Force Headquarters,Abuja.One more photo below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison.  Punish my abusers within 48 hours or face lawsuit - Student bullied by her classmates threaten school authorities The bullied student of British Lead International School, Miss. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
