 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. SENATE PRESIDENT ''SARAKI'',COMMISERATES WITH VICTIMS OF KANO SABON GARI MARKET INFERNO.

                      Senator Bukola Saraki,who attented the wedding ceremony of Senator Dino Melaye's younger sister,Shade,to her husband Wale,yesterda in Ayetoro Kogi State,took to his social media to commiserate with victims of Kano inferno.Saraki in a statement by his Special Adviser {Media and Publicity} lamented the continuous occurrences of fire disasters in markets across the country and urged the managements of markets to always employ all modern means of preventing and combating fire disasters to ensure traders are not subjected to this harrowing loss.The popular Sabon Gari market in Kano,was in the early hours off saturday hit by a fire incident very that led to the destruction of goods and properties worth millions of naira.''The continuous loss of merchandise and properties in many commodity markets in the country and Kano in particular to fire disasters has reached a worrisome level that requires urgent measures to combat the trend.These fires incidents had deprived our hard working and determined traders the means of livelihood and survival and these are expectedly breadwinners of their families.In addition,these losses represent the depletion of nation wealth as most of the victims constitute a significant chunk of entrepreneurial class who are supposedly great contributors to the nation's Gross Domestic Product {GDP}.This is most unfortunate to the economy of Kano State,more so coming after the destruction of Kurmi market,the oldest market in Kano by fire,and the recent inferno at the furniture section of Abubakar Rimi market.The Senate is pained by the loss,and i seize this opportunity to underscore the need for adequate preventive measures against fire disasters in our market.All markets in the country must be built with plans to prevent outbreak of fire incident and equipped with fire fighting equipment.Also,market women should be constantly trained in fire preventive measures and drills''.He urged the state government to ensure thorough investigations to unravel the cause of the incident and forestall occurrence.To the couples that got married in Kogi,the Senate President wrote ''I wish the new couple the best of blessings as they begin their union''.More photos below.
