 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. 2 PEOPLE WERE SUSPICIOUSLY KILLED/COMMITTED SUICIDE TODAY,AT TEXAS AIR BASE.

                       Two people were killed in a murder/suicide at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio today friday that triggered a 90 minute lockdown at the facility,military officials and the Bexar County Sheriff's Office said.Military officials and the Federal Bureau of Investigation said the shooting was not an act of terrorism.Both victims were men and two weapons were found at the scene,Brigadier General Robert LaBrutta,Commander,Joint Base San Antonio,told news conference,adding they were not releasing further details on the victims at this time.The Air Force Times,an independent news outlet,citing internal Pentagon communications,reported that the commanding officer of the 331st K-9 Training Squadron at the base was shot buy an airman.LaBrutta said ''This morning we received one of those calls you never want to receive.Our hearts and prayers go out to the families that are going to be affected by this tragedy''.Adding that no other victims were found.LaBrutta said that after an initial report of a shooter,security officers rushed to the scene within three minutes.Both victims were found in an office.The incident took place at the Medina annex at the facility,where dog training takes place.The Federal Bureau of Investigation was called to assist and has taken the lead in the case,the sheriff's office said.More photos below.
