TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms. Today wednesday,about 50 shops were destroyed by fire at Ladipo Auto Spares Market,Mushin Lagos.NAN reports that goods,particularly assorted vehicles spare parts,were burnt at the Osoro secttion of the market.Mr Nkire Ezeigbo,Public Relations Officer,Ladipo Auto Dealers Association,told NAN that the fire started at about 3.30 am from the Osoro/Akinwumi area of the market.Mr Felix Okoro,Chairman of the Osoro section of the market,said no casualty was recorded but goods worth millions of naira were consumed by the inferno.The Director,Lagos State Fire Service,Mr Rasak Fadipe,said his men had responded promptly,adding that the fire was completely put out at 10:00 am.NAN reports that the fire has temporarily slowed down business activities in the affected section of the market.One more photo below.
