NAF INTENSIFIES AIRPOWER CAMPAIGN, STRENGTHENS AIR PRESENCE IN SOKOTO TO DENY TERRORISTS FREEDOM OF ACTION The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its airpower campaign against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other criminal activities across the North-West, with a strengthened air presence in Sokoto State to support ongoing joint security operations. The initiative reflects the Service’s determination to sustain pressure on hostile elements, enhance aerial surveillance and maintain the capacity for rapid response to emerging threats, while providing effective air support to ground forces operating within the Joint Operations Area. The strengthened air presence is particularly significant in the fight against asymmetric threats, where terrorists and bandits exploit difficult terrain, mobility and concealment to evade ground forces. Today wednesday,about 50 shops were destroyed by fire at Ladipo Auto Spares Market,Mushin Lagos.NAN reports that goods,particularly assorted vehicles spare parts,were burnt at the Osoro secttion of the market.Mr Nkire Ezeigbo,Public Relations Officer,Ladipo Auto Dealers Association,told NAN that the fire started at about 3.30 am from the Osoro/Akinwumi area of the market.Mr Felix Okoro,Chairman of the Osoro section of the market,said no casualty was recorded but goods worth millions of naira were consumed by the inferno.The Director,Lagos State Fire Service,Mr Rasak Fadipe,said his men had responded promptly,adding that the fire was completely put out at 10:00 am.NAN reports that the fire has temporarily slowed down business activities in the affected section of the market.One more photo below.
