NAF INTENSIFIES AIRPOWER CAMPAIGN, STRENGTHENS AIR PRESENCE IN SOKOTO TO DENY TERRORISTS FREEDOM OF ACTION The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its airpower campaign against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other criminal activities across the North-West, with a strengthened air presence in Sokoto State to support ongoing joint security operations. The initiative reflects the Service’s determination to sustain pressure on hostile elements, enhance aerial surveillance and maintain the capacity for rapid response to emerging threats, while providing effective air support to ground forces operating within the Joint Operations Area. The strengthened air presence is particularly significant in the fight against asymmetric threats, where terrorists and bandits exploit difficult terrain, mobility and concealment to evade ground forces. According to sources,Primary and Secondary school teachers in Abia state have embarked on a three days warning strike to press the state government to pay them their arears of salaries ranging from three to four months.The primary school teachers in the state are being owed salary arrears from February while their counterparts in the secondary school system are owed since January.The primary and secondary schools in the state were scheduled to reopen on monday April 18,2016,but was shifted one week ahead generally believed to be delay tactics by government to enable source for funds to pay the teachers.On Monday,April 25th after one week,the schools resumed with the arrears still pending,which forced the leadership of Nigerian Union of Teachers {NUT} in the state to order the teacher to embark on a three day warning strike to press home their demand.One more photo below.
