 ASUU–ABSU SUSPENDS THREE-WEEK-OLD INDEFINITE STRIKE The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Abia State University Branch, wishes to inform the University community, all stakeholders and the general public that, following the resolution of Congress held today, Friday, 28th August, 2026, the Branch has suspended its three-week-old comprehensive industrial action with immediate effect. The decision of Congress followed a careful assessment of developments since the commencement of the strike and, particularly, the concrete steps taken towards addressing some of the major issues that necessitated the industrial action. Foremost among these is the full implementation of the 2025 FGN–ASUU salary structure, including the Consolidated Academic Tools Allowance (CATA), which has now been reflected in the August 2026 salaries of academic staff of Abia State University.                   Day one of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visit to India is complete and they received a fantastic welcome in Mumbai.Their day began at the Taj Palace hotel,where they laid a wreath at the Memorial for the victims of the 2008 terrorist attack that took place here.The Duke and Duchess then went to the Oval Maiden and joined children being helped by three fantastic charities-Magic Bus,Childline,and Doorstep for a game of cricket.They then visited Banganga Water Tank and found out how SMILE,a local NGO,is helping this community develop local businesses.Finally the Duke and Duchess joined the stars of Bollywood for a charity gala hosted by the British High Commission and the British Asian Trust.More photos below.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.
