  Oshiomhole Convinced Us To Make Obaseki Governor – Philip Shaibu Philip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has disclosed that his choice to support his former boss, Godwin Obaseki, stemmed from his respect for Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Naija News, Shaibu shared his doubts about Obaseki during an interview on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm program on Tuesday. Shaibu admitted that he lacked confidence in Obaseki's leadership even before they took office on November 12, 2016. He explained that despite his initial hesitations, he ultimately backed Obaseki out of respect and based on the assurances provided by Oshiomhole. He stated, “Obaseki is not a politician. We made him governor because Oshiomhole persuaded us. CHINA DENIES SELLING HUMAN CORNED BEEF,TO AFRICA.{READ}.

                    A top Chinese official has refuted claims that China has been selling human meat as corned beef in Africa.China's Foreign Ministry spokesman,Hong Lei,was reacting to report on social media after an unnamed Zambian woman living in China warned people against consuming corned beef from that country.The woman said that Chinese firms had been collecting dead bodies and packaging them in cans before sending them to Africa.Hong Lie said ''We express dissatisfaction towards irresponsible reports.The Chinese embassy in Zambia has introduced the true circumstances to the Zambian government and the public,and asked relevant media to investigate relevant reports thoroughly and eliminate the serious,negative effects brought by such reports''.The Zambian government has said it will launch investigations into the alleged reports.More photos below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
