NEMA COORDINATES SAR OPS AT THE SCENE OF BUILDING COLLAPSE INVOLVING A THREE STOREY BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT GUDU AREA OF FCT At about 0945hrs on Saturday 16th May, 2026, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was alerted of a building collapse at Gudu District of FCT. Critical stakeholders including Federal Fire, FCT Fire, NSCDC, NPF, FRSC and Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) were activated while a response team of NEMA from the Abuja Operations Office led by the Head of Operations Mr Zakari Abubakar and operatives from AYA Emergency Response Bay (ERAB) were deployed to the scene for quick response and coordination. A reinforcement team from NEMA Headquarters led by the Director Search and Response (DSAR) Air Cdre Bature Usman was also on ground to provide necessary backup and supervision. Today wednesday,the Federal Government,approved the increase of Premium Motor Spirit {PMS} normally referred to as petrol to be sold not more than N145 per litre effective from 11th May,2016.The PPPRA will accordingly announce the new price.The product was seling for N86.50 per litre.The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources,Ibe Kachikwu disclosed this to State House correspondent at the Presidential Villa,Abuja.He said that the decision was reached at a meeting of stakeholders presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and attended by the Leadership of the Senate,House of Representatives,Governors Forum,and Labour Unions {NLC,TUC,NUPENG,and PENGASSAN}.The new pump price,Kachikwu said,was to ensure increased and stabilize quantity of the product in the country.The meeting also approved all oil marketers to import PMS into the country.One more photo below.
