"Worth It" — Woman Pleads Guilty to Fatally Shooting 11-Month-Old Son to Keep Him From Father Madeline Veronique Daly, 36, pleaded guilty this week in Silver City, New Mexico, to first-degree murder in the December 23, 2025 killing of her 11-month-old son, Basil Stoner. Grant County deputies had tracked her to an RV off Highway 15 on a Wyoming kidnapping warrant after she took the baby during a custody dispute with his father, Jake Stoner. While officers waited for a warrant and tried to negotiate, Daly put a 9mm handgun to the boy’s face and fired. According to the criminal complaint, Daly told investigators her thought when she saw law enforcement approach was: “Jake can’t get Basil.” After her arrest she said it was “worth it” if Basil’s father and his family never got him. Yesterday tuesday the 17th of May 2016,troops of 1 Brigade Nigerian Army operating under the auspices of Operation MESA in Zamfara state,raided suspected cattle rustlers and armed bandits camp at Yan Mangu forest,near Dandindin village,Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara state.The Troop also arrested 2 bandits and recovered 1 AK-47 rifle,1 AK-47 rifle magazine loaded with 7 rounds of 7.62mm {Special} ammunitions,3 locally made guns and 1 motorcycle.Two suspects were arrested while attempting to flee from the camps.Nevertheless,the troops have destroyed all the bandits camps in the forest and are further dominating the general area and other flasj points with raids and patrols.The public are kindly requested to continue to be more security conscious and report any suspicious movement or persons t the nearest security agencies.-Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman,Acting Director Army Public Relations.More photos below.
