Marissa Bode was 'denied boarding a flight because I'm disabled' Marissa Bode, best known for her role in Wicked, shared on TikTok that she was recently denied boarding a Southern Airways flight because of her wheelchair. She explained that when she asked gate agents for help locating her boarding pass, they questioned whether she could stand. After she said no, they told her she could not board since all of the airline’s planes require passengers to climb stairs. Bode described the experience as “blatant segregation,” criticizing the airline for failing to accommodate disabled travelers. Southern Airways’ contract of carriage states that passengers must be able to ascend and descend steps to board, and because its planes carry fewer than 28 passengers, the airline is exempt from providing lifts under the Air Carrier Access Act. Yesterday tuesday the 17th of May 2016,troops of 1 Brigade Nigerian Army operating under the auspices of Operation MESA in Zamfara state,raided suspected cattle rustlers and armed bandits camp at Yan Mangu forest,near Dandindin village,Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara state.The Troop also arrested 2 bandits and recovered 1 AK-47 rifle,1 AK-47 rifle magazine loaded with 7 rounds of 7.62mm {Special} ammunitions,3 locally made guns and 1 motorcycle.Two suspects were arrested while attempting to flee from the camps.Nevertheless,the troops have destroyed all the bandits camps in the forest and are further dominating the general area and other flasj points with raids and patrols.The public are kindly requested to continue to be more security conscious and report any suspicious movement or persons t the nearest security agencies.-Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman,Acting Director Army Public Relations.More photos below.
