 Popular Awka MC And Comedian Aiza Nwosu Shot Dead Popular Awka-born master of ceremonies, comedian and griot, Aiza Nwosu, was reportedly shot dead today, Sunday, 30th August 2026, in Awka, Anambra State. Unconfirmed reports circulating online allege that his killing may be connected to a lingering land-related dispute. This remains unverified, however, and it is now left for the relevant security agencies to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death. The tragic news has shocked many, particularly within Awka and the entertainment community. It also raises renewed concerns about violent killings in Awka and the urgent need to address insecurity in the area. Aiza had been active in the entertainment industry for many years and was a friend and colleague to many. He was also known for mentoring younger entertainers and contributing to the growth of the local entertainment scene. NIGERIAN TROOPS,AVERT ATTACKS ON OIL PIPELINES AT GULOBOKRI AND EWELESO TODAY.

                 Today,29th May 2016 in the early hours of morning,troops of 343 Artillery Regiment of 2 Brigade,82 Division of the Nigerian Army,carried out patrol within the general area of Gulobokri and Eweleso,around Brass area in Bayelsa state.During the exercise,the patrol team had an encounter with some armed militants in 2 Speed noats with intents to blow up Nigerian Agip Oil Company {NAOC} pipeline at Gulobokri.The suspected vandals opened fire on the patrol team.The troops responded with overwhelming superior fire-power and as a result,the suspected criminals sped off from the area with many of them sustaining gnshot wounds.No casualty on the patrol team.Unfortunately,a personnel of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps {NSCDC} attached to the team sustained gunshot wound.He has since been evacuated and he is in a stable condition.In a related development,another patrol team of the same unit of 82 Division Nigerian Army,on patrol to Perigbene House Boat {HB} also encountered 3 Speed boats suspected.
