 GOVERNOR ABBA  YUSUF SACKS  KANO STATE HEAD OF SERVICE   The Executive Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has relieved the State Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa, of his appointment with immediate effect. In a statement  by the Director General, Media and Publicity to the Governor, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the decision is part of the ongoing efforts by the present administration to reposition the state civil service for greater efficiency, discipline, and improved service delivery across all government institutions. Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to the outgoing Head of Service for his contributions and dedication to the service of the State  The statement further directed that Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, the Permanent Secretary, Admin and General Services at the Cabinet Office, to serve in an  acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive Head of Service. OBASANJO ADVISED FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TODAY,NOT TO REVIVE NIGERIAN NATIONAL SHIPPING LINE.

                        Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo today monday gave the advice in Lagos in his address as Chairman of a two-day stakeholder's conference on the maritime industry.The formal president blamed the demise of the Nigerian National Shipping Line {NNSL}.H said ''NNSL had been liquidated,they tried Nigeria Unity Line,it collapsed.Nineteen brand new ships were specially built for Nigeria,e did not take delivery of some of them until i left office in 1979.When i came back in 1999,NNSL had been liquidated with all the 19 ships gone as well as the five ships in existence.two of the ships were missing for almost two years and it was discovered that one military man was using them all over the world and no accountability''.The former president urged the present administration to ''think out of the box and come up with what should be done to grow the maritime industry.Until NIMASA became a source of where people steal money,nobody knew too much about it.Before we tried to privatise Nigerian Ports Authority,I went to Singapore where you get your container within one hour of arriving the port.If we cannot perform like Singapore,we have to do better than what we are doing now''.One more photo below.
