 Kwara Govt donates 150 off-road motorcycles to Nigerian Army •LGAs acquire 320 motorcycles to boost vigilantes' security operations  In a bid to further strengthen security operations and maintain peace across Kwara State, His Excellency Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led Kwara State Government has donated 150 off-road motorcycles to the Nigerian Army. The motorcycles are expected to enhance troops' mobility and effectiveness, particularly in rugged terrains such as forests, where non-state actors may be hiding with intent to destabilise the peaceful atmosphere of the state. PRESIDENT BUHARI TO VISIT LAGOS ON MONDAY,FOR TWO DAYS.

               On Monday the 23rd of May 2016,President Buhari will be visiting Lagos state for two days.In a statement by the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy,Mr Steve Ayorinde,stated that this is the first in about 15 years that a sitting President will be visiting the State on a working visit and is a testimony to the landmark achievements in the last one year of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode as well as the good working relationship between Lagos state and the Federal Government.Ayorinde added that President Buhari during the visit,would formally commission the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency {LASEMA} Rescuit Unit in Cappa Oshodi built by the State Government to ensure prompt and swift response to emergency situations in the state.He said the President would thereafter commission the newly constructed Ago Palace Way in Okota,Isolo after which he will pay homage to the Oba of Lagos,His Royal Majesty,Oba Babatunde Rilwanu Aremu Akiolu at the Iga Iduganran,Lagos Island.The commissioner disclosed further that the President would later in the day be hosted to a reception rally by the State Government at the Tafawa Balewa Square,{TBS} Lagos where he will also commission and hand over security equipment and vehicles contributed by the Governor Akinwunmi Ambode-led administration to securities agencies to beef up security in the state.One more photo below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
