Renowned industrialist Ratan Tata, who passed away in October 2024, ensured that his longtime home and office staff were well taken care of in his will.  According to The Times of India, Tata left over ₹3 crore for his domestic servants and employees, distributing ₹15 lakh to each staff member who had served him for at least seven years. The amount was to be given proportionate to their years of service. The bulk of Tata’s ₹3,800-crore estate has been bequeathed to the Ratan Tata Endowment Foundation and the Ratan Tata Endowment Trust. However, some of his closest employees received special mentions. His longtime cook, Rajan Shaw, received over ₹1 crore, including a ₹51 lakh loan waiver. His butler, Subbaiah Konar, was left ₹66 lakh, including a ₹36 lakh loan waiver, while his secretary, Delnaz Gilder, was given ₹10 lakh.                                                         A 23 year old Nigerian student has been hit with an iron rod in a suspected racist attack in Hydeeabad,south India just days after Africans protested increasing cases of racism targeting blacks in the Asian country.Damilola Kazeem was allegedly hit by a man described as his neighbour following an argument over the use of a parking space in the area.The suspect was subsequently detained.The Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj asked local authorities to probe the matter which came on heels of African diplomats cancelling African Day celebrations.The ninstry's spokesperson tweeted ''Reports of a Nigerian student injured in Hyderabad: EAM {External Affairs Ministry } @Sushmaswaraj,has urgently sought report from state govt,is monitoring the case''.Emmanuel Omurunga,chairman of the African Students Association in the state of Telangana,said: ''The situation in India is no longer safe for us.Even the police are not willing to help us when we approach them''.
