 Man brutalises his pregnant wife in Anambra  In another case of domestic violence, a pregnant woman was brutally beaten by her husband in Ichi, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State. The mother of three identified as Chinelo Francis, from Ebonyi State, said trouble began when she requested money from her husband, Peter, to prepare food.  According to the young woman, she had already bought vegetable with the profit she made from her shop. Peter, also from Ebonyi, claimed he didn’t make money that day and took the children home.  He returned to her shop at around 8:00 PM and insisted she close up and come home with him.  She refused, explaining that the time was when she typically made most of her sales.  Later, she closed up her shop, went home at 9:30 PM, prepared the children for bed, and retired.                     A 28 year old tailor,Senami Balogun,was today fridayarraigned before a Badagry Chief Magistrates Court for allegedly pouring hot water on one Miss Tina Adamu.The accused is facing a one count charge of assault.The Prosecutor,Inspector Innocent Uko,told the court that the accused committed the offence on May 15 at the Ibereko area of Badagry.He revealed that the accused and the victim,who happened to be friends,engaged themselves in a heated argument.Uko said that the argument was over a man,adding that the accused dashed into the kitchen,brought a pot of hot water and poured it on the complainant.''The victim is currently in the hospital recuperating from the multiple injuries she sustained from the assault''The counsel to the accused,Mr Ayo Awe,pleaded with the court to grant bail to the accused since the offence was bailable.The Magistrate,Mr Abiodun Etti,granted bail to the accused in the sum of N50,00 and a surety who must provide evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.The case was adjourned till June 29 for further hearing.One more photo below.
