Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. A 28 year old tailor,Senami Balogun,was today fridayarraigned before a Badagry Chief Magistrates Court for allegedly pouring hot water on one Miss Tina Adamu.The accused is facing a one count charge of assault.The Prosecutor,Inspector Innocent Uko,told the court that the accused committed the offence on May 15 at the Ibereko area of Badagry.He revealed that the accused and the victim,who happened to be friends,engaged themselves in a heated argument.Uko said that the argument was over a man,adding that the accused dashed into the kitchen,brought a pot of hot water and poured it on the complainant.''The victim is currently in the hospital recuperating from the multiple injuries she sustained from the assault''The counsel to the accused,Mr Ayo Awe,pleaded with the court to grant bail to the accused since the offence was bailable.The Magistrate,Mr Abiodun Etti,granted bail to the accused in the sum of N50,00 and a surety who must provide evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.The case was adjourned till June 29 for further hearing.One more photo below.
