 ANAMBRA POLICE COMMAND RECEIVES AND AUGMENTS IGP’S MONITORING UNIT OPERATIVES ON ENFORCEMENT OF POLICE PERSONNEL WITHDRAWAL FROM VIP ESCORT DUTIES IN THE STATE The Anambra State Police Command today 8th December 2025 formally received operatives of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP)’s Monitoring Unit deployed to the state to ensure full implementation of the IGP’s directive on the withdrawal of police personnel from VIP escort and guard duties. The Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc mnips PhD reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to supporting the IGP’s reform efforts targeted at enhancing professionalism, discipline, and optimal deployment of police manpower nationwide. The CP noted that the withdrawal of these officers will help to strengthen public policing, improve response capacity, and ensure that more personnel are available for core policing duties across the state.                     A 28 year old tailor,Senami Balogun,was today fridayarraigned before a Badagry Chief Magistrates Court for allegedly pouring hot water on one Miss Tina Adamu.The accused is facing a one count charge of assault.The Prosecutor,Inspector Innocent Uko,told the court that the accused committed the offence on May 15 at the Ibereko area of Badagry.He revealed that the accused and the victim,who happened to be friends,engaged themselves in a heated argument.Uko said that the argument was over a man,adding that the accused dashed into the kitchen,brought a pot of hot water and poured it on the complainant.''The victim is currently in the hospital recuperating from the multiple injuries she sustained from the assault''The counsel to the accused,Mr Ayo Awe,pleaded with the court to grant bail to the accused since the offence was bailable.The Magistrate,Mr Abiodun Etti,granted bail to the accused in the sum of N50,00 and a surety who must provide evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.The case was adjourned till June 29 for further hearing.One more photo below.
