 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS MINISTER OF STATE FOR PETROLEUM RESOURCES (GAS) AS CO-CHAIRMAN OF NCDMB GOVERNING COUNCIL In line with his avowed commitment to establish a more efficient, targeted, and consistent approval process for unique oil and gas projects in the country, President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mr. Ekperikpe Ekpo, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), as the Co-Chairman of the Governing Council of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB). This is also to further ensure effective oversight of the gas aspect of the nation's assets. The President remains committed to unlocking Nigeria's immense gas potential to stimulate industrial development, job creation, and sustainable economic growth. THE NIGERIAN ARMY,CLEARS CATTLE RUSTLERS,ARMED BANDITS OUT OF MARU,YESTERDAY.{PHOTOS}.

                   In continuation of the efforts of getting rid of the menace of cattle rustling,armed banditry and other criminality in the country generally and in the north west geo-political region,under the auspices of Operation SHARAN DAJI,troops of 1 Brigade Nigeria Police in Zamfara State,have carried out a joint clearance operation in Maru today.Although most of the targeted suspected cattle rustlers and armed bandits have escaped,the joint team recovered substantial quantity of arms and ammunitions in the area.It is equally believed some of the criminals escaped with gun shot wounds.The team is still combing the general area for such persons.Consequently,the public in Zamfara,Sokoto,Katsina and Kaduna states in particular,are please requested to report any suspicious persons especially those with gun shot wounds.-Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman,Acting Diector Army Public Relations.More photos below

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha.  Punish my abusers within 48 hours or face lawsuit - Student bullied by her classmates threaten school authorities The bullied student of British Lead International School, Miss. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her. Namtira said if the school authorities fail to sanction the student bullies within 48 hours of the receipt of the letter, she would seek immediate and severe legal redress against the school.
