  The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has dismissed a viral claim circulating on social media about the introduction of new ₦5,000 and ₦10,000 banknotes, labeling it as fake news. The claim, which included fabricated images of the supposed new denominations featuring Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and Chief Obafemi Awolowo, falsely stated that the new notes would enter circulation from May 1, 2025. In a statement on its verified Facebook account, the CBN clarified that the content is not from the bank and directed the public to its official website, (www.cbn.gov.ng), for authentic information. The bank warned against spreading misinformation regarding monetary policies and urged Nigerians to rely only on official statements from its verified channels. THE WIFE OF A POPULAR COMEDIAN,WAS KIDNAPPED FROM THEIR HOUSE YESTERDAY IN RIVERS STATE.

                        Gunmen yesterday sunday abducted the wife of a popular Comedian cum politician,Mr Mike Ogbolosingha,in Port Harcourt,Rivers State.The Ogbolosinghas hail from Bayelsa but are residing in Eliparanwon area of Port Harcourt.Speaking today monday,the popular stand-up comedian,told reporters that the gunmen stormed their Eliparanwon residence yesterday sunday and abducted his wife,Mrs Chime Mike Ogbolosingha.He said the kidnappers who were about six in number also went away with valuable items from the house.He said the kidnappers have not established contact with him or any member of his family.While pleading with the abductors to release his wife unconditionally,Ogbolosingha said he has alerted the police of the incident.One more photo below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
