 PRESS RELEASE  6TH OSOM GAMES TODAY DECLARED OPEN BY THE NSC CHAIRMAN.  The National Sports Commission (NSC) is making headlines once again with its commitment to promoting Nigerian athletes through regular internal competitions. Today, Mallam Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), declared the 6th OSOM Games open in a colourful ceremony at the Moshood Abiola International Stadium in Abuja. This statement reinforces the Commission's dedication to their Renewed Hope Initiative for Nigerian Sports Economy (RHINSE) mandate and their goal of turning sports from a field of consumption to one of production. The OSOM Games, which stands for One Service One Medal, is an inter-security agency competition that aims to foster unity and camaraderie among the various security agencies in Nigeria.               The EFCC today monday June 20,2016,arraigned Favour Omeigba Bello {F} before Justice {Prof} Chuka Augustine Obiozor of the Federal High Court of Lagos State,Ikoyi on 3 count charge bordering on attempt to export counterfeit,Possession of counterfeit and forgery.The accused,Bello was arrested by officials of the NDLEA on January 16,2016 at the Murtala Muhammed Internationall Airport,Ikeja,Lagos,during the outward clearance of passengers on Ethiopian Airline to Dubai and was later transferred t the EFCC for further investigation.Favour was alleged to have in her possession as at the time of arrest Two Hundred and Ninety Eight pieces counterfeited Traveler's cheques of various foreign banks,one Green Nigerian passport number A06961064 belonging to Aluya Mary Jennifer,one Green Ghanaian passport number G0843377 belonging to Koffi Nicole,one Driver's Licence bearing the name Okeke Charles,one National Identity card bearing the name Aluya Mary Jennifer,all concealed in three hard cover children drawing/picture book.More photos below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
