NAF INTENSIFIES AIRPOWER CAMPAIGN, STRENGTHENS AIR PRESENCE IN SOKOTO TO DENY TERRORISTS FREEDOM OF ACTION The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its airpower campaign against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other criminal activities across the North-West, with a strengthened air presence in Sokoto State to support ongoing joint security operations. The initiative reflects the Service’s determination to sustain pressure on hostile elements, enhance aerial surveillance and maintain the capacity for rapid response to emerging threats, while providing effective air support to ground forces operating within the Joint Operations Area. The strengthened air presence is particularly significant in the fight against asymmetric threats, where terrorists and bandits exploit difficult terrain, mobility and concealment to evade ground forces. The EFCC today monday June 20,2016,arraigned Favour Omeigba Bello {F} before Justice {Prof} Chuka Augustine Obiozor of the Federal High Court of Lagos State,Ikoyi on 3 count charge bordering on attempt to export counterfeit,Possession of counterfeit and forgery.The accused,Bello was arrested by officials of the NDLEA on January 16,2016 at the Murtala Muhammed Internationall Airport,Ikeja,Lagos,during the outward clearance of passengers on Ethiopian Airline to Dubai and was later transferred t the EFCC for further investigation.Favour was alleged to have in her possession as at the time of arrest Two Hundred and Ninety Eight pieces counterfeited Traveler's cheques of various foreign banks,one Green Nigerian passport number A06961064 belonging to Aluya Mary Jennifer,one Green Ghanaian passport number G0843377 belonging to Koffi Nicole,one Driver's Licence bearing the name Okeke Charles,one National Identity card bearing the name Aluya Mary Jennifer,all concealed in three hard cover children drawing/picture book.More photos below.
