 71-year-old landlord arrested for impregnating tenant’s teenage daughter The Ogun State Police Command said it had arrested a septuagenarian landlord, identified simply as Adesina, for allegedly defiling and impregnating his tenant’s 14-year-old girl (name withheld) at Akegbeyale Street in Ifesowapo Akute, Ifo Local Government Area of the state. PUNCH Metro learnt that the residents and other tenants were thrown into a state of shock when the septuagenarian suspect was found on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, having sexual intercourse with the 14-year-old girl at about 10:15 pm in the house bathroom. The minor, according to a police source who was part of the team that arrested the 71-year-old suspect but was not permitted to speak for the command, was said to have made her way to the apartment’s bathroom to take a shower.                                                     Ambode enjoins Muslims to promote culture of tolerance,peaceful co-existence as Muslims in Nigeria join their counterparts across the world to commence the annual Ramadan,the Lagos State Governor,Mr Akinwunmi Ambode sent his heartfelt greetings to all Muslim faithfuls in the state just as he called on them to see the period as time to promote culture of tolerance and peaceful co-existence.In a statement issued on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Habib Aruna,the Governor said the commencement of Ramadan as a Holy month should be seen as an opportunity to learn self restraint,sacrifice,piety and love.He said this was in line with the admonition of the Holy Quran,Chapter 2 Verse 183,which says ''Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you so that you can learn self restraint {Piety}''.The Governor therefore urged Muslims in the State to take opportunity of this Holy month to promote a culture of religious tolerance and peaceful co-existence among people of diverse ethnicity.The Governor further said ''At this critical period of rebuilding our nation and ensuring that the Change we promised is delivered,the lessons of the Holy month of Ramadan must permeate all of our actions and deeds in such a way that each person must act as his brother's keeper at all times''.He also wished al adherents of the Islamic faith a most spiritually rewarding Ramadan.                                                                                                                          B

Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
