  The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has dismissed a viral claim circulating on social media about the introduction of new ₦5,000 and ₦10,000 banknotes, labeling it as fake news. The claim, which included fabricated images of the supposed new denominations featuring Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and Chief Obafemi Awolowo, falsely stated that the new notes would enter circulation from May 1, 2025. In a statement on its verified Facebook account, the CBN clarified that the content is not from the bank and directed the public to its official website, (www.cbn.gov.ng), for authentic information. The bank warned against spreading misinformation regarding monetary policies and urged Nigerians to rely only on official statements from its verified channels. EGYPT AIR CANCELLED THEIR FLIGHTS TODAY,AFTER A TIP OFF THAT A BOMB WAS PLANTED IN THEIR AIRCRAFT.

               Today wednesday morning,Egypt Air flight from Cairo to Bangkok was cancelled,after a three hour delay.The takeoff was delayed while the airline searched the aircraft and passengers informed the passengers that they received a report that a bomb was planted on the aircraft.An Egypt Air statement published today wednesday said the flight was held while security procedures were carried out following a bomb scare.The statement said a security threat had been posed to Flight 960 flying from Caro to Bangkok,which was scheduled to take off on Tuesday night at 22.30 pm,local time.The threat transpired to be false,but the flight was cancelled.The aircraft was rescheduled to fly a different route,and the 226 passengers due to take the flight to Bangkok were transferred to a hotel near the airport.The passegers will make the journey on the next flight out of Egypt to their destination.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
