 Muni Long reveals she underwent double lung transplant after doctors said she had 1 week to live: 'My jaw dropped' Singer Muni Long revealed on Good Morning America that she underwent a double lung transplant after leaving Brandy and Monica’s The Boy Is Mine tour in 2025. Diagnosed with lupus in 2014, the Grammy winner recalled falling ill during the tour, developing pneumonia, and barely finishing her final show.  Soon after, she collapsed at home and woke up in the hospital, where doctors told her she had only a week to live without surgery. Long admitted she initially hesitated to undergo the transplant, worried about how it might affect her voice. LAGOS STATE ASSEMBLY CONFIRMS JUSTICE PHILIPS AS 'LASIEC' CHAIRMAN,YESTERDAY.

                                                   The Lagos State House of Assembly yesterday thursday confirmed the appointment of the immediate past Chief Judge {CL} of the state,Justice Ayotunde Philips as the Chairman of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission {LASIEC}.Justice Philip's appointment,which was confirmed duringg plenary yesterday thursday,followed her nomination by the State Governor,Mr Akinwunmi Ambode through a letter sent to the House few weeks back.The Clerk of the House,Mr Sanni Azeez was subsequently ordered to communicate the confirmation of the appointment of Philips to the Governor through a letter.Justice Philips who was invited to the House to defend her nomination,said during plenary that she was prepared for the job and that this would halt her retirement,which she had enjoyed for sometime now,adding that she was ready to serve the state.Some of the lawmakers,who contributed during her appearance,observed that she served the State meritoriously during her tenure as the Chief Judge of the State.In his comment,the Speaker of the House,Rt. Hon Mudashiru Obasa told Justice Philips that the job would require her to go round the state unlike,when she was the CJ.He said ''You will now need to visit all the Local Government Areas in the State during the registration for the election and during the registration for the election and during the election proper.You must be ready to do the job as required so that we could have a free and fair election.We count on you since you were successful during your tenure as the Chief Judge''.Answering questions from the Speaker if it was possible to start speaking Yoruba Language in the courts in the State,Justice Philips said that this would be impossible as some of the peopple who come to the courts would not understand the language.She said ''Some of the people,who came to the court do not understand Yoruba language and when you start speaking Yoruba in court it would be a ground for appeal for someone,who does not understand Yoruba language''.One more photo below.
