 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police.                  Pastor Kumuyi of Deeper Life Bible Church,who visited Warri for one day programme tagged ''Following a Life Transforming Example'',said the situation in the volatile oil-rich region should not be a win win affairs''.During the programme which was organised by the Deeper Life Bible Church at the Warri township stadium,Kumuyi said ''The solution to the crisis in the Niger Delta is dialogue.Stakeholders should reason together and see a way forward instead of accusing each other.What we are interested in is how to solve the problem;what are the expectations of both sides so that we can move forward.President Buhari has another three years in office,sometimes it depends on somebody's approach,so let us not build the evaluation on his one year in office.Nigerians believe we could have achieved something better than where we are presently as a country.I do hope we are not going to remain in our present position' we want to move forward as a nation and that is what people are saying.I join our people to say the economy is sliding,but i know that our country is going to move forward from where we are now with prayers and with us being responsible''.One more photo below.
