 RE: MISLEADING CLAIMS REGARDING EXTORTION OF MOTORISTS BY LAGOS STATE TASKFORCE – YET-TO-BE-IDENTIFIED SECURITY OPERATIVES: ANOTHER CASE OF MISTAKEN IDENTITY The Lagos State Taskforce wishes to address a misleading narrative circulating on social media, particularly in a viral video shared by protesters and concerned groups who recently demonstrated at the Lagos State House of Assembly. The protest was in response to the alleged extortion of motorists by security operatives, yet to be identified, who are not officials of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit. We categorically state that the Lagos State Taskforce had no involvement in the said incident. Our enforcement teams are led by seasoned, well-trained, and highly disciplined senior officers who are far too professional and educated to jeopardise their ranks, integrity, and years of service for personal gain.                 So painful today as some families of the 49 people killed]] at an Orlando gay nightclub,hugged and wept at the funeral.The gunman 29 year old Omar Mateen who was born in New York but of Afghan parents,killed them for nothing but his shooting spray was cut short when the police shot him down.Today friday,FBI agents questioned a member of the Islamic Center of Fort Pierce,according to Omar Saleh,a lawyer with the Council of American-Islamic Relations who sat in on the 30 minute questioning session.''We were meeting with some agents.They were asking questions relative to the incident that happened on sunday''.Meanwhile,funerals and memorials were held around Florida and in Puertoo Rico,home to many of the people killed.Mourners hugged and wept after the burial of Kimberly Morris,37,in Kissimmee,Florida,and family members of Angel Candelario-Padro,28,embraced after his body returned to his hometown of Guanica,Puerto Rico.More photos below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
