 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results.                 So painful today as some families of the 49 people killed]] at an Orlando gay nightclub,hugged and wept at the funeral.The gunman 29 year old Omar Mateen who was born in New York but of Afghan parents,killed them for nothing but his shooting spray was cut short when the police shot him down.Today friday,FBI agents questioned a member of the Islamic Center of Fort Pierce,according to Omar Saleh,a lawyer with the Council of American-Islamic Relations who sat in on the 30 minute questioning session.''We were meeting with some agents.They were asking questions relative to the incident that happened on sunday''.Meanwhile,funerals and memorials were held around Florida and in Puertoo Rico,home to many of the people killed.Mourners hugged and wept after the burial of Kimberly Morris,37,in Kissimmee,Florida,and family members of Angel Candelario-Padro,28,embraced after his body returned to his hometown of Guanica,Puerto Rico.More photos below.
