 LASG REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO END TUBERCULOSIS IN COMMUNITIES IN LAGOS STATE The Lagos State Government on Tuesday reaffirmed its commitment to completely eradicate Tuberculosis (TB) at the grassroots level across the metropolis.  The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health District III, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke made this known during a courtesy visit by the Institute of Human Virology, Nigeria team to her Ikoyi office, emphasising the present administration's commitment to continually prioritise health security across the state. She said the Lagos State First Lady, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Sanwo-Olu, is a Tuberculosis (TB) champion with the mandate of ending TB now and the continuous expansion of TB scale-up diagnostic centres.  According to her, “The First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Sanwo-Olu is a TB champion.                 So painful today as some families of the 49 people killed]] at an Orlando gay nightclub,hugged and wept at the funeral.The gunman 29 year old Omar Mateen who was born in New York but of Afghan parents,killed them for nothing but his shooting spray was cut short when the police shot him down.Today friday,FBI agents questioned a member of the Islamic Center of Fort Pierce,according to Omar Saleh,a lawyer with the Council of American-Islamic Relations who sat in on the 30 minute questioning session.''We were meeting with some agents.They were asking questions relative to the incident that happened on sunday''.Meanwhile,funerals and memorials were held around Florida and in Puertoo Rico,home to many of the people killed.Mourners hugged and wept after the burial of Kimberly Morris,37,in Kissimmee,Florida,and family members of Angel Candelario-Padro,28,embraced after his body returned to his hometown of Guanica,Puerto Rico.More photos below.
