 Gabon awaits presidential election outcome after peaceful vote The majority of polls closed in the oil-rich Gabon on Saturday in a presidential election that the country’s military rulers hoped would legitimize their grip on power. It’s the first election since a 2023 military coup ended a political dynasty that lasted over 50 years. Analysts have predicted an overwhelming victory for the interim president who led the coup. The polls were due to close at 6 p.m. local time, but there was no official confirmation from the authorities. Interim results were expected on Sunday. Some 920,000 voters, including over 28,000 overseas, were registered across more than 3,000 polling stations. A third of the country’s 2.3 million people live in poverty despite its vast oil wealth, Africanews reported. The interim president, Gen.                                  The Nigeria Police has Premiered its first Television series entitled ''Beyond Your Sight'' on the 7th June,2016 at International Conference Center,Abuja.The TV series was produced and directed by Award winning movie producer Lancelot Odua Imasuen and it featured household brands like Segun Arinze and Desmond Elliot.The Nigeria Police under the leadership of IGP Arase has aligned policing in our country to best international practices where TV series highlighting exploits of the Police and criminal activities are utilized to strengthen internal security.In this instance,reference is made to global Police and TV series like 'Law and Order'',NYPD Blue',CSI in USA; and ''The Bill' in the UK.The objective of this TV series is not only to showcase the achievement of the Nigeria Police Force but also a confidence building technique that will encourage Nigerians to have faith in their own Police Force and it is also to educate the policemen and women on how to better relate and partner with the police,hence projecting that popular parlance ''Police is Your Friend and Partner''.The police further said ''Watch out for BEYOND YOUR SIGHT'' on our TV Stations across the Nation''.
