 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. 2 PEOPLE WERE MISTAKENLY HIT BY A BULLET FROM A GUN AT THE LAGOS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT,TODAY.

                   Today friday,two persons were injured at the General Aviation Terminal of the Murtala Muhammed Airport,Lagos when the gun carried by a man identified as an orderly to a senator accidentally discharged on him and a woman as he tried to remove the magazine.The orderly who was to travel on Arik Air and wanted to lodge his gun,which is a standard practice on air travel,but the gun released a bullet that splinted and hit both the man and woman on the leg as he bent down to pull the magazine out of the gun.According to The Nation,the two people were taken to hospital at the airport.Source hinted that they trekked out of the terminal to the vehicle that took them to the hospital.The General Manager,Public Affairs of FAAN,Mr. Yakubu Dati,who confirmed the incident,said what happened is an accident and added that stowing the gun away with its magazine is standard procedure.He said guns are not taken on-board aircraft as standard aviation practice.They are usually checked in the luggage compartment.Dati assured air travellers that all the airports are safe and secure and recognition of the security challenges in the country and in the world,security at the nation's airport has been fortified.One more photo below.
