Police Arrest Fake Navy Officer for Fraud and Impersonation in Yobe The Yobe State Police Command has achieved a major breakthrough in its fight against cybercrime and fraud with the arrest of a fake Navy personnel who specialized in defrauding the public. According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, the 29-year-old suspect, Agugu Joshua, was apprehended in possession of a counterfeit Nigerian Navy ID card. He used the fake identity to deceive victims, particularly POS vendors and store owners. Joshua’s method involved generating fake receipts through his Kuda Bank app, which appeared to confirm successful transactions, even though they were fraudulent. He would start by making a small, legitimate transaction to gain trust, then use the app to alter the receipt, delaying the alert to his victim.
