CBN DEBUNKS FAKE NEWS ON NEW N5,000 AND N10,000 BANKNOTES.(PHOTO).

  The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has dismissed a viral claim circulating on social media about the introduction of new ₦5,000 and ₦10,000 banknotes, labeling it as fake news. The claim, which included fabricated images of the supposed new denominations featuring Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and Chief Obafemi Awolowo, falsely stated that the new notes would enter circulation from May 1, 2025. In a statement on its verified Facebook account, the CBN clarified that the content is not from the bank and directed the public to its official website, (www.cbn.gov.ng), for authentic information. The bank warned against spreading misinformation regarding monetary policies and urged Nigerians to rely only on official statements from its verified channels. The CBN reaffirmed that any major policy decision, including the introduction of new banknotes, would be announced through its official platforms. FOOTBALL LEGEND 'PELE',TO VISIT NIGERIA AUGUST 11,2016.

                                  The facilitators of the visit,Winihin Jemide Series {WJS} and Youth Experience Days Africa {YEDA},made the disclosure at a news conference in Lagos.This will be Pele's second visit to Nigeria,the first was in 1967 was occasioned by a two-day cease fire during the Nigerian civil war.His visit allowed the warring sides to watch Pele and Santos play an exhibition match in Lagos.Pele whose real names are Edison Arantes do Nascimento,would be in the country from August 1 to August 12 for the programme,tagged ''WJS/YEDA Legend Edition''.The organisers said that programmes line-up for the events were street football tournament that would feature 44 youths selected from the street and sports clinics.Also,there will be a gala night with Pele and other Africa football legends where Pele memorabili would also be auctioned.The facilitators said that proceeds from the auction would be donated to an eligible local youth football academy.The event will involve football loving teenagers and parents,state governments,corporate sector and the Nigeria Football Federation {NFF}.More photos below.
