  Tragedy Strikes As Promising Councillor Hon. Chukwuma Okpalauzuegbu Is Laid To Rest On Intended wedding Day  By Charity Ejiofor  A day that was meant to mark a joyful union has instead become one of deep sorrow for family, friends, and the Aguata community, following the sudden passing of Hon. Chukwuma Christopher Okpalauzuegbu, the councillor representating Amesi Ward. Hon. Okpalauzuegbu fondly known as Chuma, had been preparing to celebrate his wedding ceremony, an event filled with hope, promise and carefully laid plans. Loved ones, and sponsors, ready to stand beside him as he embark on a new chapter of life. In an unexpected and heart breaking turn of events, those dreams were cut short. GAMBIA PRESIDENT 'JAMMEH',BANS CHILD MARRIAGE IN THEIR COUNTRY.#20 YEARS IMPRISONMENT.

                              The president of Gambia Yahya Jammeh said anyone that marries a girl aged below 18 years would be jailed for up to 20 years.The president while speaking at the Eid ul-fitr celebrations at the end of Ramadan said that parents and imams who perform the ceremonies would also face prison.According to the UN children's agency {UNICE},around 46% of girls in Gambia get married before reaching 18years.Announcing the ban and jail terms,Mr Jammeh said ''If you want to know whether what i am saying is true or not,try it tomorrow and see''.One more photo below.
