 Anambra Govt Warns Against Purchase of Encroached Land at Trans-Nkissi By MaryAnn Chukwuma The Anambra State Ministry of Lands has warned members of the public against purchasing plots at TransNkissi Phase 1, behind the Federal Government Girls College, Onitsha, from persons claiming ownership on behalf of the Umuosodi family of Onitsha. The warning was contained in a public notice dated Sept. 28, 2026, with Ref. No. PS/ML/2026/CR/VOL.II/028 and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Nkeiru Mokwe, for the Commissioner. According to the notice, the Ministry became aware that persons alleged to be members of the Umuosodi family had invaded and commenced clearing portions of the land with the intention of selling them to unsuspecting members of the public. It said compensatory plots had been allocated to the family and other families in Onitsha before the current administration. IGP DEPLOYS TACTICAL OPERATION UNIT TO AREPO/IBAFOR TO FLUSH OUT ARMED CRIMINALS.{READ}.

                      The Inspector General of Police,Ag.IGP Ibrahim Idris,NPM,mni on June 30,2016 deployed a Tactical Operation Unit,comprising the Police Mobile Force,the Counter-Terrorism Unit with the back-up of an Air Surveillance Team to flus out vandals and other criminal elements operating in Arepo and Ibafor areas of Ogun state.IGP Ibrahim Idris said the deployment of the Unit tp Arepo/Ibafor is to ensure that normalcy returns to the areas in record time.The IGP also said the Nigeria Police Force will not watch any criminal group or groups take the law into their hands,he therefore authorized the Unit to deal decisively with anyone who constitutes himself an enemy of the State,while asking law-abiding citizens of the area to return home and go about their normal businesses.I would be recalled that Arepo and Ibafor in Ogun state have for sometimes now been in the news for the wrong reasons due to anti-social behaviours of miscreants.In another development,the Nigeria Police Force has arrested one Aloysius Ebiniko,said to be the kingpin of the armed gang that abducted and murdered Col.Samaila Inusa on March 27,2016 in Kaduna,Kaduna state.The arrest of Aloysius Ebiniko was made possible as a result of a credible technical intelligence employed by the Police after a confessional statement of a member of the gang earlier arrested.Aloysius Ebiniko will soon be arraigned in court as those earlier arrested in connection with the crime had been arraigned and are remanded in Prison custody.
