  NBC bans Eedris Abdulkareem’s protest song ‘Tell Your Papa’ from radio, TV The National Broadcasting Commission has barred Nigerian radio and television stations from airing the trending song “Tell Your Papa” by veteran rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem, citing its “objectionable nature.” In a memo dated April 9, 2025 and issued by the Coordinating Director of Broadcast Monitoring, Susan Obi, the commission declared the track Not To Be Broadcast (NTBB) under Section 3.1.8 of the Nigeria Broadcasting Code. This section prohibits content deemed inappropriate, offensive, or in breach of public decency from being aired on Nigerian broadcast platforms. According to the NBC, while the song has gained momentum across social media platforms, its lyrical content fails to meet the standards of responsible broadcasting. IGP DEPLOYS TACTICAL OPERATION UNIT TO AREPO/IBAFOR TO FLUSH OUT ARMED CRIMINALS.{READ}.

                      The Inspector General of Police,Ag.IGP Ibrahim Idris,NPM,mni on June 30,2016 deployed a Tactical Operation Unit,comprising the Police Mobile Force,the Counter-Terrorism Unit with the back-up of an Air Surveillance Team to flus out vandals and other criminal elements operating in Arepo and Ibafor areas of Ogun state.IGP Ibrahim Idris said the deployment of the Unit tp Arepo/Ibafor is to ensure that normalcy returns to the areas in record time.The IGP also said the Nigeria Police Force will not watch any criminal group or groups take the law into their hands,he therefore authorized the Unit to deal decisively with anyone who constitutes himself an enemy of the State,while asking law-abiding citizens of the area to return home and go about their normal businesses.I would be recalled that Arepo and Ibafor in Ogun state have for sometimes now been in the news for the wrong reasons due to anti-social behaviours of miscreants.In another development,the Nigeria Police Force has arrested one Aloysius Ebiniko,said to be the kingpin of the armed gang that abducted and murdered Col.Samaila Inusa on March 27,2016 in Kaduna,Kaduna state.The arrest of Aloysius Ebiniko was made possible as a result of a credible technical intelligence employed by the Police after a confessional statement of a member of the gang earlier arrested.Aloysius Ebiniko will soon be arraigned in court as those earlier arrested in connection with the crime had been arraigned and are remanded in Prison custody.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
