New UK Prime Minister not the leader Britain needs — Kemi Badenoch UK Conservative Party leader, Kemi Badenoch, has congratulated Andy Burnham on becoming Britain’s new prime minister but said while he is “a nice man,” the country needs a leader capable of making difficult decisions rather than “a people pleaser.” In a statement released on Monday on X following Burnham’s assumption of office, Badenoch wished the new prime minister success but vowed to hold his government accountable as Leader of the Opposition. “Today, Britain has a new Prime Minister. An experimental solar-powered plane is seen heading to Egypt on the last leg of its round-the-world trip.The Solar Impulse-2 touched down in Spain,after an unprecedented three-day flight across the Atlantic from New York.It's the first time a solar-powered plane had made such a journey using zero fuel and zero emissions.The aircraft's wings are wider than those of Boeing 7-4-7 and are equipped with 17 thousand solar cells,which power the propellers and charge batteries.At night the plane operates on stored energy.The round-the world trip began in March 2015 in the United Arab Emirates.More photos below.
