 Anambra HOS Visits Ministry of Women Affairs Again, Warns On Absenteeism, Insurbordination By Stella Anekwe The Anambra State Head of Service, Ngozi Anuli Iwouno Esq.,mni, on April 29, visited the Ministry of Women Affairs , 29 days after her first visit, warning workers of absenteeism and insurbordination. She frowned at the lack of respect and insubordination witnessed among the staff against the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, warning that if such is reported again, she would post out all the staff. She reminded the workers at the ministry of Women Affairs that the ministry is the gateway of the grassroots to the civil service hence, the workers should be puntual and service oriented always. She said that with the 216 lawyers in the Ministry of Justice that the civil service has enough lawyers for litigation against those flagrantly disobeying the civil service rules and code of service. 3 ABANDONED BABIES WERE RESCUED BY THE POLICE IN FESTAC TOWN LAGOS.

                    According to The Nation,Police operatives attached to Festac Division have rescued three abandoned babies.While two of the babies were successfully abandoned at different locations of Festac Town,the mother of the third was caught after dropping the about three week old child near a gas station on 21 Road.It was gathered that the woman identified as Bose Ojo,27 went to the area about 9:00am On July 27,dropped the baby and left.Unfortunate for her,a resident in the area saw her from her apartment situated at the first floor of a high rise building.The resident,it was gathered raised alarm and the woman was chased,while policemen at Festac Division were notified.She was arrested and upon interrogation,the woman was said to have denied abandoning the baby.According to a police source,Ojo and her baby were examined at Mother and Child Hospital,First Avenue,after which the child was admitted.The source said ''She claimed that she did not abandon the child.That she dropped the baby to rest.The woman has no fixed address and she hawks sachet water.She said the child's father,a bus drver called Oduayo abandoned her after their home at Orile-Iganmu was demolished.The woman cannot keep that child unless she gets support.She is not married.No visible means of sustenance.No accomodation.She has no skills and she's not in good health too.The woman never attended antenatal and also had her baby in a neighbouring bush all by herself''.For the second child,a boy of about six weeks,he was found at Third Avenue,behind 'H' Close.The source further said ''A Good Samaritan who lives in the close,picked him up at about 9:18 am.The child was taken to the same hospital and he was certified okay.There is urgent need for protection order for both children''.
